Nor'easters take Vineyard Haven power out for days, not hours. A standby generator starts on its own, carries the circuits that matter, and shuts down when the utility returns. OSB sizes, sets and wires the whole system.
“Storm took out our power for four days last winter. This year we have a standby generator that started itself while we were asleep.”
“Sparking outlet in the nursery. They came out the same evening, replaced it, and checked every other outlet on that circuit for free.”
“Sold our house and the buyer's inspector flagged eight electrical items. OSB fixed all of them in one visit and wrote it up so we could close on time.”
It depends on whether you want essential circuits or the whole house. A typical Vineyard Haven single-family runs well on 18-24kW for whole-house coverage; essentials-only systems can be half that.
Usually one to two days of electrical work once the pad is set and the fuel line is run.
Both. Natural gas is simplest where Vineyard Haven has a service line; propane is the answer where it doesn't.
Yes — the automatic transfer switch senses the outage, starts the unit, transfers the load, and switches back when utility power is stable.
We do. Annual testing, oil and filter service, and battery replacement are all available in Vineyard Haven.
