If your Newbury home still runs on a fuse box, a 60 or 100 amp service, or a panel brand that insurers flag, an upgrade is the single biggest electrical improvement you can make. OSB handles the permit, the utility coordination and the swap.
“They rewired our restaurant kitchen overnight so we never closed a single service. That mattered more than the price, honestly.”
“Breaker had been tripping for months and two other companies just replaced parts. OSB traced it to a backstabbed outlet behind a bookcase in twenty minutes.”
“Our panel was original to the house and completely full. OSB upgraded us to 200 amp, pulled the permit, met the inspector, and left the basement cleaner than they found it.”
A straightforward 100 to 200 amp upgrade in Newbury usually lands in the low thousands. Cost moves with mast height, meter location, grounding work and whether the utility needs to reset the drop. You get a flat quote before we start.
Most Newbury panel swaps are a single day, with power off for part of it. Larger service upgrades that need utility scheduling can run into a second day.
Yes — service and panel work is permitted and inspected in Massachusetts. OSB files the paperwork and meets the inspector so you don't have to chase it.
For nearly every single-family home, yes — including one EV charger, a heat pump and an induction range. Very large homes or two EVs sometimes justify 320/400 amp service.
Regularly. Fuse-to-breaker conversions are one of the most common jobs we run in older Newbury housing stock.
