If your West Roxbury home still runs on a fuse box, a 60 or 100 amp service, or a panel brand that insurers flag, an upgrade is the single biggest electrical improvement you can make. OSB handles the permit, the utility coordination and the swap.
“The quote they gave me on the phone was the number on the invoice. That is apparently rare and it shouldn't be.”
“Every smart switch I bought failed because there was no neutral. They pulled neutrals in the rooms that needed it and set up the rest properly.”
“They rewired our restaurant kitchen overnight so we never closed a single service. That mattered more than the price, honestly.”
A straightforward 100 to 200 amp upgrade in West Roxbury usually lands in the low thousands. Cost moves with mast height, meter location, grounding work and whether the utility needs to reset the drop. You get a flat quote before we start.
Most West Roxbury panel swaps are a single day, with power off for part of it. Larger service upgrades that need utility scheduling can run into a second day.
Yes — service and panel work is permitted and inspected in Massachusetts. OSB files the paperwork and meets the inspector so you don't have to chase it.
For nearly every single-family home, yes — including one EV charger, a heat pump and an induction range. Very large homes or two EVs sometimes justify 320/400 amp service.
Regularly. Fuse-to-breaker conversions are one of the most common jobs we run in older West Roxbury housing stock.
